An Industry-First: Group Standard for Technical Requirements for Road Sweeping Robots Officially Released
On June 1, 2026, China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation released the Group Standard for Technical Requirements for Road Sweeping Robots, which will come into effect on September 1 later this year. Marking a milestone in smart sanitation standardization, this framework enhances human-robot collaboration, boosts operational efficiency, and charts a clear course for a full-scale industry upgrade in China.
In April 2025, Shenzhen Saite Intelligence, as the Leading Unit of AI Sanitation Robots Professional Committee under Shenzhen Association of Environmental Sanitation, led the drafting of the industry’s first specialized technical standard for road sweeping robots, together with several industry-leading enterprises, under the joint guidance of the Shenzhen Environmental Sanitation Management Bureau and the Shenzhen Longgang District Bureau of Local Administration and Comprehensive Justice, and organized by the Standardization Technology Committee of the China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation.
The issuance of the Group Standard for Technical Requirements for Road Sweeping Robots effectively establishes a unified framework of technical specifications, product performance, and safety standards for the industry.
